In the Hishiyama Laboratory at Waseda University, there are twenty students enrolled in master’s and undergraduate courses. Four of them are conducting research using the Language Grid.
During this academic year, we conducted the following three research studies: (1) Simulation Experiment by participatory multilanguage gaming (Langrid-Gaming) for global food security system (by Tsunoda, undergraduate student), (2) Multilingual paper-rock-scissors game system for exchange of cultural resources (by Mizoguchi, undergraduate student), and (3) Experiment on multilingual workflow for international trading practices in native language (by Yoshida, undergraduate student). Furthermore, a student enrolled in a master’s course has begun research on designing and reconfiguring service combination on the basis of input/output language dependencies using an extended design structure matrix method (by Kanai).
Since we have just started using the Language Grid, the organized support from the Language Grid Project team has been of great help to us in our research. We look forward to the day when the Language Grid community in the Tokyo area becomes as large as that in the western area.
